LMIA Owner Operator Business Plan
Self-employed Visa Program
The Self-employed Persons Program allows people to immigrate to Canada permanently as self-employed persons. Candidates for the Self-Employed Persons Program must have the experience, intention, and ability to make a “significant contribution” to Canada’s cultural life or sports in Canada.
Applicants should submit a close, correct, and thorough business arrangement that demonstrates the viability of their business.
Eligibility Requirements
To qualify, the applicant must:
- Have 2 years of experience within the last 5 years
- Be able to demonstrate financial viability from the proposed self-employed endeavor
- Indicate how they will contribute to Canada economically and culturally
- Meet other personal and financial requirements
As with all other Canadian business and entrepreneurial immigration options, the primary purpose of this program is to bring significant benefit to the country.
A well-written business plan demonstrating the viability and benefit of the applicant’s proposed business is a vital asset when included with an application.
